However, you’d be surprised to know that the entertainment industry isn’t the biggest billionaire maker. Only six people in Hollywood have earned the title so far.

And that number has since dwindled to just five recently. Let’s find out which celebrities have retained their position on the list and which one was booted out.

George Lucas

Star Wars and Indiana Jones are two of the most successful film franchises to ever grace movie theaters. So, it comes as no surprise that the man behind them has also made a fortune for himself.

Filmmaker George Lucas is currently worth $6.5 billion today.

Steven Spielberg

Birds of a feather do flock together, huh. Joining his buddy Lucas in the exclusive billionaire club is director Steven Spielberg.

Known for such classics as ‘E.T.,’ ‘Jurassic Park,’ and ‘Jaws,’ Spielberg has not only cemented his place among America’s most beloved directors. He’s also secured a spot on its richest filmmakers list.

He boasts of having a $3.7 billion fortune.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey has fought through a lot to get to where she is right now.

Going from small-town news reporter to the host of the highest-rated talk show in the history of American television, Winfrey now runs her television network and online publication. She reportedly owns 25.5% of the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z is another celebrity billionaire who came from humble beginnings. Growing up in one of Brooklyn’s projects, he went on to become one of the most successful rappers ever.

Now, he has expanded his business interests from music to a liquor brand to a franchise of nightclubs. His business acumen has made him the first hip hop artist to become a billionaire.

He has a net worth of $1 billion.

Kanye West

Following in Jay-Z’s trailblazing footsteps is fellow rapper Kanye West.

Like his predecessor, West had a pretty successful music career. However, he hit it big when he launched his streetwear brand, Yeezy, and partnered with Adidas on a shoe line.

Some report his net worth to be $3.2 billion. Forbes estimates his fortune to be closer to $1.3 billion.

Former Billionaire Kylie Jenner

Speaking of contesting and Forbes, West’s sister-in-law Kylie Jenner has recently lost her billionaire title after the business publication accused her of fabricating financial documents.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder is $100 million short of gaining back her billionaire status. Some sources even estimate her current fortune to be as low as just $700 million
